SOBRE MÍ > Soy Ainoa Riesco, artista visual, docente, gestora cultural y cofundadora, junto a Manuel Prendes, del taller de serigrafía y estampación artística Ora Labora Studio, donde desarrollo mi trabajo desde 2016.
SOBRE MI OBRA > La memoria es un concepto que evoca recuerdos, emociones y saberes de otro tiempo. En ella converge la identidad de uno mismo con un tiempo y espacio concretos. Y es que cada uno de nosotros es, inevitablemente, una construcción de memorias. Mi trabajo artístico explora ese lugar de convergencia, centrando la atención sobre mitos y expresiones populares vinculadas al espacio que habito: el noroeste español. Y es que, dada la realidad en que vivimos, gobernada por lo nuevo y lo inmediato, que amenazan con el olvido a golpe de sobreinformación, creo imperiosa la necesidad de mirar atrás y recordar. Por ello, mi trabajo no sólo pretende documentar esa memoria, sino reinterpretarla, recuperarla y compartirla. Porque, sin duda, lo que se mantiene vivo, sobrevive al olvido.

ABOUT ME > I am Ainoa Riesco, visual artist, teacher, cultural manager and co-founder, along with Manuel Prendes, of Ora Labora Studio, a screen-printing studio where I develop my work since 2016.
STATEMENT > Memory is a concept that evokes memories, emotions and knowledge from another time. It is the convergence of one's identity with a specific time and space. And the fact is that each of us is, inevitably, a construction of memories. My artistic work explores this place of convergence, focusing on popular expressions and ancestral traditions linked to the space I inhabit (Northern Spain). At a time when novelty and immediacy prevail over everything else and when the over-information to which we are subjected contributes to oblivion, the need to remember becomes imperative. For this reason, my work not only aims to document this memory, but also to reinterpret it, recover it and share it. Because what is kept alive survives oblivion.
